Formula
Finished inches = stitches ÷ fabric count. Finished centimeters = inches × 2.54. Add at least 3 inches (7.6 cm) on every edge when cutting fabric.
Common choices
14-count is beginner-friendly and widely available. 16-count makes the same chart 12.5% smaller; 18-count makes it about 22% smaller and demands finer stitching.
