What the pattern maker does—and what it cannot promise
A good chart balances resemblance, manageable color count, readable symbols, and practical stitching. More colors or more cells do not automatically create a better project.
Color matching
The maker compares image colors in a perceptual Lab color space and selects nearby DMC reference colors. The displayed color is an estimate: monitors, dye lots, lighting, and thread cards differ.
Safe cleanup
Isolated stitches are detected from neighboring cells. V10 offers light, medium, and strong cleanup, limits repeated passes, preserves a generated baseline, and stops a cleanup that would collapse too many colors.
Privacy
Photo decoding, cropping, matching, editing, and project saving happen in the browser. Analytics is optional and never includes the photo or the pattern contents.
Quality checklist
Use a clear subject
Keep the face or main object large, sharp, and evenly lit.
Review at stitch scale
Check important eyes, edges, and markings in the symbol chart before exporting.
Verify physical colors
Compare the final list with a current physical DMC color card before buying materials.
